Vibe: You would never insult your team by catching only their Sportcenter highlights, but you’d never insult your friends by throwing a less than legendary birthday party. So what’s the solution when your birthday party falls on the same night as your team’s big game? New York City’s Bar Twelve, where you get sports, big beats, and, of course, a good drinking atmosphere (beer pong encouraged), all under one roof (they only ask you take a shower and leave your jersey and sweat pants at home).

Spot: A total of 22 altogether, plasma screens everywhere you look display all the day’s big games, while the nightly DJ overlooking the front bar keeps the place delightfully clubby. Private booths are accented with state of the art lighting and sound systems, which keep up with whatever mood the DJ’s spinning.

Grub: As you’d expect, Bar Twelve serves all your favorite American fare, because the only thing that could make sports, drinking, and pelvic thrusting more American is something grilled or fried to go with it.

The Deal: As the bar itself says, “there is never an excuse not to play drinking games!” Bar Twelve is perfect for those who like their sports and their drinking competitive. You won’t miss a minute of any big game, and you don’t have to sacrifice a dance floor to do it. Slammin beats, beer pong ($10 pitchers for those playing), plasmas everywhere…this place is a playground for the young, beautiful, and sports-crazed of New York City.

Awesome music

My girlfriends got pretty crazy on Friday. The DJ hits all the right tracks, though so it made sense that we just let loose. It was all great up until some a-hole decided to walk around with a drink while clearly too tipsy...he ended up spilling all over me. I had to get my dress to a dry cleaned, but it was still a good night.

Will be going back soon

The best part was definitely the DJ, but the bartender was awesome. She really helped me out when I lost my phone. It took forever to realize though, since we were having so much fun that night. We all left at like 3 in the morning and yes our feet did kill the next morning, but I am definitely going back this weekend.

Minor Issue

Booked my birthday party through this website for Bar 12 and had a little hiccup at the door when the door person couldn't find my name on the list but it ended up working out after a few moments. After getting inside, the place was BUMPING! Wall to wall girls and not just girls sitting around, they were dancing like their lives depended on it. My group and I stayed for a while and it ended up getting a little crowded but nothing so painful - I recommended Bar 12 for a birthday, even though there was a little bit of a problem in the beginning of the night.

Nice Girlssss

When me and my buddies rolled up, the bouncer was being a pr*ck, but once we got in, we chilled out by the bar. Place was pretty crowded with mostly girls, really felt like a sorority party. Needless to say, we had a sick time. The DJ was playing the right music the entire night and that just made it that much better.

Perfect Location

Bar 12 is located in the heart of Murray Hill, rights by the Midtown Tunnel. They had over 50 beers on tap and it wasn't very expensive.... great place to do your birthday.
