Vibe: Although it is fairly certain your birthday party in New York City will end in a hazy mix of hard liquor and prophylactics, this doesn’t mean you can’t keep it classy along the way.  Choice is poised to keep your birthday party’s road to legendary inebriation at the level of style such a journey deserves.  

Spot: Murray Hill’s chic alternative to the usual frat star hangouts, Choice is a beautiful blend of exposed brick, vaulted ceilings, the Island Bar (perfect for watching your team, hanging with friends, and people watching by the front window), and a birthday party room complete with a fireplace and your own private bar and flat screen.  The main bar accommodates 150, but parties are welcome from 10 of your closest friends to a 250-person blowout.  Choice boasts an impressive client list and DJs on the weekend, keeping it casual yet always impressive.  Even your most pretentious friends won’t complain.     

Grub: Choice features a classic menu of top shelf entrees (filet, short ribs, sea bass) with an extensive wine list to compliment your birthday party’s palate, as well as the necessity for variety when drinking copious amounts of alcohol.  Also be sure to check out their customized party specials, which include an appetizer, entrée, and 2-hour open bar. 

The Deal: Birthday party = hammered.  That’s a given.  However, Choice lets you opt out of the usual mob of douchebaggery for something a little more upscale, but keeps it casual at the same time.  And don’t worry, the good folks at Choice won’t lose any respect for you when you crawl out the door at the end of the night.  Well, they’ll at least pretend not to anyway.
