This is the kind of place you try and downplay because it’s so awesome that you don’t want people to come and ruin it. You can call this the BBQ Bistro, as they offer some of the best skewers you’ve ever had, plus a lowkey café vibe that makes you feel like you could hang out here every week.
This is a very lowkey place that focuses on amazing bites and tasty cocktails. The décor gives oakwood vibes and one of those things New Yorkers are willing to pay extra rent for: exposed brick. The hanging bulbs and pipes give you a cozy, vintage feel and when the weather is nice, the storefront windows are wide open, welcoming you to sip on your bourbon and people watch in the breeze like the best of them.
Many people come here for the skewers, which are $4 each and totally delish. The Asian-American fusion is fresh and tasty. There’s wings, sliders and various other things on the menu like cheeseburger sliders, yum! But one of the best things on the menu is the waffle fries. They are a must! And since you’re obviously going to be filling up on some good eats, you should also have a sip or two. From Cape Cod Lemonade to a B.L.T., which is bourbon, lemon and tonic, you can’t go wrong.
There’s no shortage of amazingness here. From the service, to the food, to the drinks, you cannot go wrong with Set L.E.S. The tables are set up with high stools and the huge windows, which are open when the weather is at peak YASSSS gives you everything you love about the L.E.S.—people watching, cool breezes and a dive bar that feels swanky. You’re sure to spend all your friends’ money (because it’s your birthday, so it’s on them, right?) because the drinks are cheap, the food is cheap and neither one of them taste like it.
